Scented Candles Can Improve Your Mood

Multiple studies published in respected books and journals prove that scents really do affect your moods. Just consider the ways that you can use fragrant candles infused with delicious perfumes to enhance your moods:

1) For energy, turn to citrus fragrances. Candles and perfumes with citrus scents such as lemon, grapefruit, verbena, lime, or orange have been proven to improve mood and subtly boost energy, so the next time you are about to reach for a cup of coffee, why not light a candle, instead?

2) To relax, opt for lavender, sandalwood, and bergamot. If you are tense and stressed out, light candles infused with lavender, sandalwood, or bergamot fragrances. Studies have shown that these scents may help to slow heart rate, lower blood pressure, and create a sense of peace.

3) If you want to create a cheery and clean feel in your home, light pine, mint, or citrus scented candles. Pine, mint, and citrus scents are known to make a person feel motivated and uplifted. They also create a cheeriness and make people feel as though they are in a very clean environment.

4) If you want to set a romantic mood, reach for rose, sandalwood, jasmine, and gardenia fragrances. These woody and floral scents have for generations been associated with romance and some even claim that the exotic perfumes have aphrodisiac qualities.

5) If you want to lift yourself out of the blues, try basil, rose, thyme, violent, or ylang ylang scents. These scents have been shown in studies to lift the spirits and improve mood. When you bring these scents into your home via candles, it certainly doesn’t hurt that they create a pleasantly fragrant atmosphere.

In today’s hectic world, maintaining a positive outlook can be very challenging. Unfortunately, poor moods lead to all sorts of problems. They can increase your blood pressure, cause stress, and lead to headaches. They can break down your relationships and can generally make you feel unproductive. If you believe the newest information about the law of attraction, having a poor outlook on life and negative moods can even affect your future prosperity and success. It is certainly easier to achieve your goals and make the most of your life when you’re in a positive, happy mood.

Luckily, even if you’re in the dumps, snapping out of your mood is quite simple — and you don’t even need years of therapy in order to accomplish it. Simply put on some beautiful music, light some wonderfully scented candles, and sit back to relax. The time alone, the aromatherapy, and music will all work magically to help improve your mood and outlook. You will start to feel less tense, nervous, anxious, and moody once you give some time to yourself and once you start treating yourself better. In many cases, our grumpiness is caused by the fact that we do not give enough time and effort back to ourselves. If you have been running yourself ragged and have become moody or grumpy, reach for a candle with an uplifting scent. In no time, you will be amazed at how you feel.
